Difference: six months of studying and practice!

Improvements:

Clothing folds

BEYOND insane colour palette improvement

Shading/rendering for the colour layer, including tiny dots in the shadows for depth

Experimenting with gradients on the lineart layer

Better idea of shape and direction - feet clearly flow out, hair is obviously curly

Joints that are built-in instead of being drawn onto normal legs last-minute

PROPORTIONS. I'm not sure how, but for this one it's very obvious Ollie has a small(er lol) body, and it would be easy to mistake them as a kid while wearing kidcore.

Kind of a mix of Lagoona Blue, Elle Eedee, and Honey Swamp, all of whom I have dolls which was awesome because 13’s a doll too! :) They’re not a Monster High doll though, they’re actually part of Destroy-A-Toy. After a gunshot goes off. But it’s fine because floridaaaaaaa

ITS MY PHONE CHILD!!!!!!

As a piece of tribute to my friend @qibsichan i drew her darling version of ollie! The phone child is a lil stinker with fangs (i added the fangs, not sure if they have them in her AU)

Okay you know what I’m. Gonna share some DAT Ollie lore here!

(DAT means Destroy-A-Toy. It’s literally the Smaller Bodies Initiative AU but four years into the future and on a stage)

Aight so my little bugger looks like this

I have their full body too but the phone child is currently being beastly and is making my art style do the conga

Anyhoos!! Here are some things about this particular phone child

Their name is Ollie Playtime and they’re Poppy’s (adopted?) sibling

The phone child actually isn’t a child! That’s an experiment who got transformed AS a child and is now stuck looking like that 😭 they’re actually 18 in the time of the AU and 28 in the time of canonical gameplay

This foul foul beast was a precursor to Poppy - a test subject to see how it would go creating a female doll body. Problem is they used a male test subject. Thanks for giving my little baby gender dysphoria

Despite saying everything with a cutesy wootsy voice, Ollie is pretty angry and volatile due to their treatment/situation

Little stinker was meant to run the phone lines (as a CHILD mind you) just to answer help calls, but that turned awry when Ollie got so mad at Playtime Co. they got on the phone and threatened to leak their experiments to the nearest news hotline

Long story short they’re now a staff member! Security and Communications Head!

Anyhoossss!! So the funny playtime monster creechur is a main character in a thing I’m writing. DAT’s plot is Playtime Co. decided “oh yeah looks like our toys are finally well made enough to be shown publicly” and they’re carted off to the Theatre to cause an incident. Ollie, being on the staff, went “oh hell no” and forcibly parked their botty boo as the tour guide so they can control how the toys are treated. Cause they do NOT want all these gorgeous little beans to become angry like them.

It’d be more noble if they didn’t give Elliot Ludwig alcohol poisoning on purpose

Anyways, that’s my funny phone child! Or what I can think of right now :)

Poppy’s parasol is meant to be an actual poppy! Her colours were picked by @idiotsmart1 and @thattiredgamer - purple symbolises royalty!

As for Ollie, they’re much more hands-on and far more likely to set a building on fire, while Poppy can’t because her skirts would crisp up…

My Name is Ollie, nice to meet you!

In Chapter three, we're introduced to Ollie. I personally like the theory that he's just simply the Prototype mimicking the voice of the actual Ollie who most likely is long gone(depending if he either was experimented or died after the Hour of Joy). We do know at some point, Ollie was in fact an orphan as he does have his own room in Home Sweet Home.

Now others think that he's his own toy and is just an experiment helping out Poppy like how Kissy is helping. Some argue that certain toys are shown to have child-like voices like giggling from the mini critters so it could be plausible an experiment like him just kept his young voice.

My issue with him being another experiment that simply calls you is more based off of a information perspective. In this same chapter, we learn that the Prototype can mimic voices and here we have is a "kid" speaking to us with the use of a phone while never actually appearing in front of us, it would make sense for that to be the hint of not trusting Ollie. But if he was an experiment, why would they give him a young, childish voice. It would make more sense if Playtime Co. adjusted the vocal cords where they don't sound at all like children as some orphans might pick up on that so to have Ollie as an experiment just keep his child-like voice while every other character that truly talks have adult voices doesn't make sense to me.

Also other things that make sense for Ollie being the Prototype is the fact that Ollie never speaks when the Prototype appears and only speaks before and right after the encounter with the Prototype. He also knows exactly where we are, talks about the shrines with excitement like he's proud of what Catnap made, sort of jokes about missing limbs after the Player's encounter with Dogday, speaks in a monotone/robotic way, and knows about Catnap's backstory claiming that it's a story that they say which is a bit weird as how would the other toys know that Catnap got into an accident and was saved and that's why he worshipped the Prototype? Catnap doesn't seem speak much if at all most of the time and no other character mentions about Catnap's backstory. Dogday explains that Catnap sees the Prototype as his god without explaining why. Miss Delight just simply works with Catnap and reports to the Prototype, she never mentions about Catnap's background either.

So that's why I drew Ollie like this, he's supposed to represent a frame of a kid that Ollie could've looked like but something isn't right. His left arm reveals the Prototype's hands as he happily calls us. I also think it would be interesting if Poppy doesn't know about this and it's like nobody is truly on the same side which is a fun concept that I don't see as often.

Ollie needs more canon screen time but in the meantime since MOB Entertainment hasn’t mentioned/teased anything else about him let me just…

Contrary to their appearance, this is NOT a child. This isn’t even a toy.

Green is the colour of safety, which can be both legitimate and false.

Orange is a rejection of poppy red. It is a reflection of their old, natural body.

Pink is to appear feminine, sweet and appealing.

Purple is a royal colour. It represents luxury and power. Purple is represents Catnap.

Primary colours are a no-go unless for manipulative purposes. While Ollie can’t help that their phone is red, yellow and blue, behind the speaker is someone who has sworn off those colours. This also represents how they initially appear to be working for the company but are instead planning to sabotage it.

I like to headcanon that every time Ollie is on the phone with the Player their/his mind works like this

Recently learned that no, it is not clear what happened to Ollie in Smaller Bodies.

(Context is I asked a new cult member if he knew what had happened to Ollie)

The person then said he didn’t know what the experiments were, and the most he could infer was from Miss Delight’s account in Curtains.

Therefore:

You don’t know what happened after the hospital sequence

You don’t know what experiments were done on them

You don’t know too much about how they got to run the phones

This is actually awesome because they’re a main character in DAT and therefore I have plenty of character room!

They got a hold of the nearest working phone and threatened to dox every single illegal experiment the company had done straight to the news channel. Their conditions are that they can maintain a position of power at the company and have a say in how the experiments are treated.

Still 4’ tall, still has a child’s voice

NEVER wears blue, red or yellow (minus the jeans). This is to spite the company.

Also never wears shoes to spite the one time Theodore called them a goody two-shoes. Wears Catnap socks to honour his memory

Playtime Co. screwed this kid over once too many. Their workers are red, yellow and blue. Guess what? Ollie doesn’t want to be associated with this company anymore. He may not be able to leave the factory but he sure as hell can leave his abusers in the dust. Secondary colours, bitch!!
