Just A Little Something Different To Keep Myself More Active Than Just Reposting Things (and Also To

Just a little something different to keep myself more active than just reposting things (and also to try out scheduled posts)- here's a photo I took recently that I think was gorgeous.

True Romance

A plump Super Pink Moon rises, casting its warm glow over the cool Atlantic Ocean. This image reminds me that we each have our own beauty, and when we engage with another beautiful soul the results can be magnificent.

The Red Sprite and the Tree Credit & Copyright: Maxime Villaeys

Explanation: The sprite and tree could hardly be more different. To start, the red sprite is an unusual form of lightning, while the tree is a common plant. The sprite is far away – high in Earth’s atmosphere, while the tree is nearby – only about a football field away. The sprite is fast – electrons streaming up and down at near light’s speed, while the tree is slow – wood anchored to the ground. The sprite is bright – lighting up the sky, while the tree is dim – shining mostly by reflected light. The sprite was fleeting – lasting only a small fraction of a second, while the tree is durable – living now for many years. Both however, when captured together, appear oddly similar in this featured composite image captured early this month in France as a thunderstorm passed over mountains of the Atlantic Pyrenees.

Andorra

Mmmm I would say Andorra is an unusual country, reminds me of lego blocks just put on a green piece of green plastic.  We went to Andorra la Vella which sits within a natural environment of beauty.  We took a route path which continues towards the mountains, through a wild valley, the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley. It was a breath taking view!   Remarkable to see efforts made by man in order to live here.  It was lovely to see our son drink fresh water from a stream instead of a tap!!

                           Teton Perfection

                           Teton Perfection

The dark skies and heavy clouds were, just moments before, a solid sea of churning atmosphere. The rain was pelting the windshield. Without letting the viewer see, those same clouds were silently laying a blanket of snow over the green pine forests above me. Then as if a giant wand passed over the world, those same clouds opened. They relaxed their hold on the earth and as if to show off their work, and allowed the mountains to see the sky. At the same time, my truck came to a stop to view this perfection the rain caused. Nature was showing off her makeover. She was smiling and allowing the world to revel in the intense handiwork she had completed. I stared. I searched the wall of the mountain for a small part that was not perfect; it did not exist. The beauty that nature created was perfect. As I drove away, those clouds closed back on the mountain and the rain again covered the truck. Awesome moments in time..dennis

Snowflakes  A Snowflake Drifts Slowly  And Inevitably Down Onto The  white Blanket Of

Snowflakes  A snowflake drifts slowly  and inevitably down onto the  white blanket of winter. The heat of the sun transforms that snowflake into a drop of liquid blue,  like a caterpillar to moth. The snowflake spills into the trickel  as the trickel rushes toward the stream with the eventual destination ever present . The destination is not the lake like you assumed ,it is instead the eyes of the lucky few  to see the snowflake pass over the lip of the       green moss covered cascade.. dennis

Dragons The Night Can Hold Many Dragons.  As A Child, They Live Under The Bed.  As A Teen,

Dragons The night can hold many dragons.  As a child, they live under the bed.  As a teen, they hide in school tests.  As a adult, they can hide in the sky. The building clouds on a spring evening very quickly turn into giant behemoths that spew fire and scream at the earth with voices that thunder across the plains and into the ears of the adults huddled safely fearing dragons.  Well perhaps not fearing, but certainly aware that dragons are out there,  lurking in the soft fluffy clouds of spring. The weather is a part of nature we all need to be aware of and respect...dennis

We All Walk Through Life Not Really Observing The View. We Put One Foot In Front Of Another As Fast As

We all walk through life not really observing the view. We put one foot in front of another as fast as we can. The destination is our goal. I suggest, that is not always the best path. I submit that the journey is the goal. The destination is the result of the journey. I seem to be traveling a bit slower on my journeys recently. Taking time to observe the steps in front of my feet, but not forgetting to peek back at the steps I have just past. This journey of life is not designed to be all about the result or the destination. You see, the destination is death and the result is similar. Life is, in its nature, a journey as opposed to a destination. Live your life a bit slower and look for the forest bridges to cross. When you reach the bridge in the forest, stop and look back. Stop and look forward and thank God for the beauty of life and the wonderful experiences we encounter on the journey. May your destination exist beyond your horizons.....dennis

  Home...

  Home...

The smell of eggs frying on the stove still linger in your mind as you walk through the place you called home. Until a few minutes ago, this home was yours and the animals in the fields were your friends.

The creek out back gave this world a reason for existence. The vegetables grew and the chickens laid eggs. The days were long, but the tired was beautiful.

Home is the area where the kids played and grew. Season after season, they prospered. Not prosper like the city folk, but like the country folk. Money was scarce, but happiness was abundant. Then more people started to move in across the valley and to chase their own version of this small perfect dream.

Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell that little stream up the road a bit to increase its flow for those downstream. The stream flowed less and less. The water was becoming brackish.

The man packed the old truck with the few belongings he owned. The two kids in the seat next to him and a photo of his wife’s grave next to the now dead tree, taped to the dashboard…

    life, interrupted…dennis

A Child Of The Ages Created From The Sands Of Time. Not Blue Or Azure, But Red. Desert Red, As Is Expected

A child of the ages created from the sands of time. Not blue or azure, but red. Desert red, as is expected from a creation of and for the desert southwest. While it is normally a placid and regressive puddle, there are the times the red beast roars to life.  Again, screaming at the stars that it is indeed alive and well!! Stand Under A Natural Arch In The Rain. Live The Life With Abandon. Stop Long Enough To Get Wet And Then

Stand under a Natural Arch in the rain. Live the life with abandon. Stop long enough to get wet and then see the beauty of nature. Not the dull day to day nature, but the spring-fresh nature. Smell the wet rock and verdant vegetation. Taste the sweet, clear air. Hear the drops hitting the rock above your head and then feel those drops splash on your face as you peer into the water logged sky. You walked miles to this place, to this special place. You need this balance in your life. Your soul will remember this moment...Live long and prosper...d This is the "Tower Arch" in Arches National Park..A long and joyous hike...
