hello, i am an individual with type one diabetes, a currently incurable chronic illness , who experiences the ups and downs of this illness every day. this illness continues to affect mine and many others life’s every day, at every second of the day. I'm joining the worlds largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes to help raise money and awareness for more than a cure, to help those without funding get the treatment they need, so children and adults can have access to medical help and therapy whenever they need, so that the stigmas that diabetes carries can be broken.
Help me change the future and fix the past, help change the world of type one diabetes, and make the world a better place!

ok long shot here. My mum got diagnosed with diabetes and is of course very upset. She thinks it is the end of everything and every nice meal or easy time ever. Does anyone wiht diabetes have stores to share about their life and maybe good recipie resources for nice meals?

Hello everyone, I am Fatuma Ali from Gaza. I am here to request for your support to help get my insulin, just an injection for today to save my life please I beg. I was diagnosed with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes and due to current situation in Gaza I'm unable to get my insulin injection as a result I'm here begging for little financial support to help me purchase insulin for this week. Another successful walk today. The weather was gorgeous and there were so many people out! I didn't talk to any of them (I complimented one's dress), but it was nice to just be around them. I also saw a naked squirrel (might be a rat, but it was running with a bunch of other squirrels) and how nature can't be stopped from going where it wants to go.
I bought a scale, as well. I am now below 260 lbs and I am so excited! I am slowly getting to a healthy weight and getting away from diabetes. I know it's only been two walks, but I have to stay motivated, so sharing these moments feels good.
Remember, only you can make changes for yourself.
This is so average for most people, but for me... it's quite the difference (as you can see). I am a housewife, and I have a hard time motivating myself to do any kind of exercise, but today I walked. I walked and I enjoyed every moment listening to music in one ear and the frogs singing in the other.
The weather was perfect, and I felt so good about myself. Being outside in nature really cleared my head and I could breathe so easily with the fresh air. I feel so at peace, so calm and content. Fulfilled.
I am proud of myself for taking the first step. My hope is to do this at least 3 times a week, if not more. I would love to do it 5 times a week, but I know I need to start slow. My desire to get to a better weight and further from the diabetes that runs in my family is strong.
I want to be healthy, and I want to love my body.
