In a previous post of mine, I mentioned how Hananene and Wandavision have similarities. I'd like to elaborate on this since I did not before.
Point 1: Hanako and Wanda are both supernatural beings that had access to reality bending prospects
Point 2: Hanako and Wanda both made an alternate reality/universe in order to stay with their loved one since they either died or were close to dying
Point 3: Hanako and Wanda both gaslit their loved ones about the nature of being inside said alternate reality/universe and attempted to forcefully imprison them.
Point 4: Hanako and Wanda were both willing to kill an innocent person in order to stabilize the nature of their said loved ones living
Hananene is WandaVision & vice versa---you can't convince me otherwise.
(Remember, these are just headcanons, you can disagree, these are not canon to the real characters)
I think Hanako would know how to dance. I dunno, he just seems like he has that kinda swagger.
Yashiro dyes the tips of her hair teal
Since Akari (the Japanese voice actress for Yashiro) sings the outro to the series "Tiny Light," and also the fact Yashiro was chosen to play Dorothy in an alternate timeline, I fully believe that Yashiro is able to sing
Hanako lets Yashiro off of cleaning duty when she's on her red moon cycle (if you catch my drift)
Hanako would enjoy electro-swing music because it would be a new iteration of music he was used to hearing from his time period.
I could see Yashiro listening to future funk.
Yashiro probably has a Wattpad or AO3 account---you can't convince me she doesn't. She already wrote fanfiction about her dating Teru
Yashiro would definitely play Mystic Messenger.
I for some reason think that Hanako would smell like charcoal. Don't know why, but it seems to stick to me
Mitsuba, somehow, smells like burnt strawberries
The entirety of TBHK is a time loop in the same way it is for Howl's Moving Castle---and Hanako *might* be aware of it. Might.
Considering how pretty Yashiro is, I think some guys in the past might have genuinely secretly liked her outside of Kou, but never said anything because Yashiro initially only wanted hot guys (keyword: Initially---now she's a Hanako simp)
It's canon that Hanako likes Yashiro's legs---and I think the reason why is because he likes the fact they're either squishy, warm, or soft to him. That, or he's like a Victorian man (if you know, you know).
I could see Mitsuba and Kou playing Minecraft together Kou: "Wanna place our Minecraft beds together?" Mitsuba: "Lame traffic safety earring, are you stupid? The answer is yes, you idiot."
If Amane and Yashiro were to be students both alive in the same timeline, Amane would definitely be the shy outcast who has a crush on the moderately popular Yashiro. She'd probably protect him from bullies and he would desperately try to return the favor and want to protect her. He'd develop feelings for her because she would've been one of the very few people to actually be kind to him.
I'm a die-hard Jelsa fan, but if I had to (utterly had to) be limited to JUST the in-universe ships available for ROTG, then I'd ship Jack Frost with the Tooth Fairy, no question. I think they're also a very cute pairing.
First and foremost, from the time they first met, Jack just lets Tooth touch him and look into his mouth like it's nothing (I don't blame Tooth for her simpery though).
And before someone tries to be like, 'Well, she's the tooth fairy, it's what she does,' I get your point. But there's a difference between checking someone's teeth versus what she does in this specific instance.
Go to the timestamps of 0:16 and 0:32 in the video provided and then get back to me.
She (and her baby teeth fairies) are just all up on this man, she keeps looking into his mouth----AND HE SIMPLY LETS HER DO IT.
He doesn't push her off. He doesn't yell at her. Doesn't tell her to stop. Nothing. He just lets her search his mouth (lol).
I'd even argue that he doesn't even seem to be uncomfortable with it. Confused? Sure. Unexpected? Plausible. But he definitely doesn't seem to mind it too much.
While I wouldn't necessarily say this is proof Jack has 'feelings' for her, it is DEFINITELY a sign that he's VERY comfortable with her on a physical level. He doesn't not have a problem with her touching him or receiving physical affection from her. He's also checking on her at times and never appears to hate spending time with her or having her around.
And sure, it could very well not be (though I personally think it is) a sign of him having a crush on her, I do think it very well tells me he at the very bare minimum doesn't mind having her around. I don't think there was a time they interacted where she genuinely DID get on his nerves.
Plus, the way he treats the baby teeth (the tiny Tooth Fairies) is SO freaking cute. He treats them so gently and cutely. And in that same clip I provided, he doesn't even seem bothered when they gush over him, he appears to even be amused by it.
He's also so sweet to Tooth by comparison to everyone else (though, how could you not be? She's such a cinnabun---)
And let's not forget the oh-so famous hug scene at 1:09 in the video, where he straight up stares at her---manz is looking into her EYES and prolonging the contact. Even one of the baby teeth had to step in for a second and be like, "you're staring too hard there, sir."
I don't care bro---Tooth Fairy x Jack Frost is freaking adorable
I am in full agreement of this, that hair is giving Yashiro vibes so bad. The hair and art is gorgeous.
Guys trust me this is what Nenes hair looks like I swear I sweeeaaarrr!!!!!!! she just straightens it sometimes I SWEAR
Honestly, the fans of Miraculous show should just not even acknowledge the canon material, come together, and make their own version of the series. Don't look at me like that, we all know we'd do a much better job.
I wrote fanfics and redesigns for this thing when I was fifteen, AND IT WAS STILL BETTER THAN THE CANON WRITING MADE BY A BUNCH OF ADULTS.
EVEN THE PRETEENS WRITE AND DRAW BETTER STUFF FOR IT THAN THE PEOPLE WORKING ON IT, I CAN'T EVEN MAKE THIS UP.
I think I'm tripping but something is not right here. What in the hyuck have they done to my people? 😭
I'm sorry, but I can't say I dig the new look because it kinda screams 'corporate' to me (which I guess durr---of course it is because a corporation is making it, but still) and it feels like their personalities are just...less present.
I can't even be mad at the daughter here, I completely agree with her reaction in the photo. Even she knows better.
I could at least easily bypass their new appearance because obviously people physically change over time, especially after having kids, but there's one aspect of this trailer that I dislike the most---believe it or not.
Character designs aside, even if they somehow were to be objectively good, there was NO reasons for them to turn the mirror on the wall into TikTok---not with the material they picked.
Not everything that's modern needs to be inserted. And even if so, at least do SOMETHING a teeny bit more tasteful with it. I would be at LEAST be more open to ignoring the character changes if they didn't put in THAT. I definitely don't agree with bullying the animators because the medium is hard, but my gosh---why the TikTok?
"Shrek had modern stuff in the other movies---" Yeah, but they weren't clips of a badly generated Shrek straight up twerking on the screen in latex.
If adding modern things for the sake of adding modern things is the formula for peak movies, then why is the Emoji Movie such a bad film? You can have modern stuff in movies, but at least have it be a well written addition.
The only thing that's gonna make me potentially forgive the TikTok thing is if (and this is a huge if for me) the plot is actually decent. Not even good---just let it be decent PLEASE.
THIS. THIS. THIS. A THOUSAND FREAKING TIMES, THIS
PRETTY PEOPLE THINK LIKE THIS
We know the term, yandere is someone who turns violent out of love. That means we can have a male yandere who isn't horny 24/7, who isn't a rapist, isn't a pervert, isn't abusive and isn't a baby trapper. Just a male yandere who respects boundaries and has understanding towards it. Also having more maturity and growth. I prefer a male yandere like that who's similar to Shinpei Goto from Firefly Wedding. He's a good representation of male yanderes and please go read it, it's an online manga. What's good about it is he doesn't make himself unredeemable and more enjoyable enough for me to support his yandere tendencies. Maybe I'm just complaining again. Oh well, I'm just putting it out there.
I know I’m really late to the party when it comes to this, but I feel like if no one else is gonna say it, I will. Nanami seriously deserves MUCH better than ANY of the male love interests in this series—ESPECIALLY Tomoe. Yep. She does. Sorry not sorry. At this point, I genuinely feel like all I'm doing is stating the utter obvious and I'm gonna lose it if anyone says otherwise.
Before we go any further, I wanna make it clear I haven’t read the manga for Kamisama Kiss, I’ve only watched the anime. So everything I am mentioning is going to be based on stuff that happens in the ANIME. I watched this when I was 12. And now as a 20 year old woman looking back on it eight years later, I can say with my whole front chest that Tomoe and Nanami are a terrifying asphalt of a couple. Tomoe is TERRIBLE love interest to the point where I think he's actually worse than Edward Cullen.
The OVA is something that deserves its own topic due to the APPARENT supposed ‘complexity’ that defenders of the ship will say is there (despite it being very clear what the truth actually was). But for the sake of not putting up with more bullcrap than I already have to by even mentioning the initial topic, I think there is one scene we can all agree that is absolutely NOT justifiable by any means—no matter how you look at it. Because some of us apparently don’t agree on the OVA, but I’m VERY sure we can all agree on this.
There’s an episode where Tomoe—pretending to be a male student at Nanami’s school—the emo black winged guy (can’t be bothered to remember his name because he’s literally another liability just like every other male character in this show—if not all of them) tells Tomoe to be cautious around Nanami because teenage girls tend to fall in love easily (I’m paraphrasing here, but you get the point).
Tomoe acts in denial about it and is like, “Pfft, not Nanami. She’s smarter than that.” Which, admittedly, would be a more wholesome moment if the following/previous context didn’t exist. Based on this alone, you probably know what I’m going to be talking about.
Nanami asks Tomoe out to the aquarium (not that he’s too aware of it being a date) and near the end of it, Nanami and Tomoe are on the rooftop of a building during the night. I know, soooo romantic (ugh). Tomoe then asks if Nanami is falling for him, to which Nanami confirms she is—much to the hypocritical chagrin of Tomoe (considering he marries her much later on in the series).
So what does Tomoe do since he doesn’t want to return her feelings? Does he calmly reject her? Does he explain it would be unprofessional? Does he at the very least say, “No.” and then leave with no closure? Newsflash, the answer to all of that is no because he then picks this 16 year old girl up with one arm, holds her on the open side, and WALKS ON THE OPEN EDGE OF THE BUILDING.
Nanami, obviously emotionally jumbled, starts questioning him and asking if he ever thought she was cute. During this ‘conversation,’ this piece of absolute SHIITAKE MUSHROOM then proceeds to DROP her.
“Oh, he dropped her on accident—” Yeah, but here’s the thing. It happened because this crazy turd was holding her near the edge of a building IN THE FREAKING FIRST PLACE. What sane person rejects someone’s feelings by HOLDING THEM on the EDGE of a 50 STORY BUILDING and then is surprised when they inevitably drop them?
Even if he DIDN’T, the fact he even DID IT at ALL tells me a LOT about who Tomoe is as a person. In what universe would this concept EVER fly? Would y’all be okay with this if it were a man were to actually do this to a woman and then his excuse was, “I didn’t mean to drop her?” BRUH, YOU WERE STILL HOLDING HER NEAR THE FREAKING LEDGE, WHAT DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN?!
I don’t even blame Nanami for telling this man to screw off as she was falling because what the actual heck, bro. I wouldn’t want him to touch me, either. At this point, I legitimately would rather Tomoe not respond, jump off the building, and dip. He’d still be a horrible jerk for that, but at least he wouldn’t have HELD HER OVER A BUIL—
I don’t care what anyone says or any other things that happen later on. “Oh, it’s just fantasy, it’s just fiction.”
I can tell you one thing—if you fantasize or gain entertainment from the concept of a man throwing an innocent woman off a building after he rejects her, I don’t think you’re okay. Why would you want that?
Obviously with Kamisama Kiss being a supernatural series, of course there are some logistics that we throw out the window—like the fact that it was somehow okay for Tomoe to propose to Nanami when she was a kid (oh yeah, I didn’t forget that gross mess). But there are just some objective realities I feel CANNOT be ignored simply for the sake of plot. And the objective reality is that you are wrong if you think that a guy holding a girl off the ledge of a building is something that can be ignored.
I don’t expect stories or couples to be perfect. Nothing made from humans is ever going to be perfect. But you got me messed up if you think I’m gonna look past a guy grabbing a teenage girl like a wine barrel and holding her off the edge of a BUILDING.
I'm so tired of the 'bad boy' or emotionally stunted male love interests for stories.
I want a story with a decent guy who just so happens to like leather and rides a motorcycle while being extroverted and funny.
"That sounds a bit unrealistic---"
So is having a healthy relationship with someone who glitches just from trying to say, "I feel ____" so I guess we're both at a standstill here.
I love a dark and brooding love interest as much as the next person, but it's honestly getting pretty old. Vintage even.
Sorry not sorry for wanting more media with fictional couples that have healthy communication and basic respect.
Y'all have been going crazy with the support, thank you so much. This is actually insane.
For real. If a man wants me to dress in black 24/7, he better know how to throw knives or own a dark mansion. Preferably both.
