Read up on intersectionality in the pride community!
Okay so I know a lot about this kinda stuff because my friends use a lot of labels that people often over generalize as being “basically the same thing” when that’s not true.
Sure they have similarities, but similarities don’t mean they’re identical.
The biggest example is probably bi, Pan, poly, omni.
As I personally know at least one person each who identifies with one of these labels, I’m do my best to break it down from how it’s been explained to me.
Being attracted to two or more genders
Being attracted to multiple genders
Being attracted to all gender/lack of but maybe having preferences, maybe not, but acknowledges different genders
Being attracted to people regardless of gender
I am not an expert and some people may use these terms in different ways, I am merely restating what I have heard.
These labels are often widely down to,
“Oh, you’re basically bi”
Which is some stupid shit
They are similar
Not the same.
Ok so I have developed a new obsession and my lizard brain has drawn a connection between 4 unrelated characters and this paired them together.
They’re all
Skinny
Tall
Related to the color blue
And have some trauma
And I redrew each of em
We’ve got
2D from Gorillaz
Edd from Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Huggy Wuggy from Poppy Playtime
And
Megamind from, well Megamind
The way my brain rationalized these was that they should each be from a Different form of media such as a band, cartoon, video game, or movie.
And now I present you my favorite work I’ve created of these boys so far
Since I love Gorillaz
“We cant raise minimum wage bc rent will increase”
Stop using the passive voice. Say what will actually happen. Landlords will increase rent — a voluntary action, not a natural result. The fun thing about voluntary actions is that they can be legislated against. What IS a natural result is that when landlords raise rent, their tenants’ wages automatically devalue. Again, the solution here is to stop the voluntary choice from being a choice at all.
Landlords choosing to increase rent is the problem, not a natural result of the solution.
there was a lot of aphobia going around so I thought it would be cool for these boys to show their true colors
reblog to scare aphobes

As we strive to be more inclusive in theatre and specifically on Broadway, we also need to have the discussion on how much it is appropriate to but actors through.
Stories about bigotry and the history of it are very important, and in a space like Broadway where you are performing the show over and over, for eight shows a week for a year or more, that can be incredibly taxing. And yes, they are professionals, and part of being professional is being able to hold up a healthy divide between performance and real life, but let me ask you this: If you were doing a show where you were playing a character who got called ugly all throughout the show, would you as the actor be able to go home every night feeling perfectly fine and not having taken those comments to heart? Probably not. And just being called ugly is of course no where near the same level as experiencing racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, etc.
One example of this is the taunting scene in West Side Story, (trigger warning for mentions of sexual assault) a show that is already about gang fighting between one with white members, the Jets, and one who’s members are from Puerto Rico, the Sharks. In the scene if you haven’t seen it, Anita, who is Latina, is pinned down and sexually harassed by members of the Jets. As you can imagine, it’s incredibly hard to watch. And if you are in the very large group of people who have survived sexual assault, especially a woman, ESPECIALLY a woman of color, it can be extremely triggering to see, let alone perform. In fact, Rita Moreno, who played Anita, found the scene incredibly hard to do, as it brought back her own memories of sexual assault. And that was in the movie. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to do eight nights a week in front of over a thousand people.
Clearly, good and accurate representation in theatre and all forms of art does not mean stories that are always about the oppression of whichever group you are trying to represent. It’s about finding that balance between those stories, which are important, and stories that show members of disenfranchised communities not having to face bigotry constantly. And while we work to find that balance, we must remember that just because the bigot is someone playing a character does not mean that the bigotry isn’t real to the person on the receiving end.
Oklahoma is attempting to pass a bill that would ban explicit romance novels. Authors, narrators, and sellers could all face fines of up to $100,000 and up to 10 years in jail for each instance.
If you live in OK, call your representative and tell them this bill should not be allowed to pass.
This is likely a test case. Republicans will try to pass it in OK and if it passes other states will likely try to pass similar laws.
In the meantime, get physical copies of books you like. Download those pdfs. Archive your AO3 stories and keep them on a physical hard drive. (Storing those files in the cloud could be problematic in the future as the company managing the cloud service can see what your files are)
stop eating lucky charms and cheerios products. they are currently under investigation by the FDA due to thousands of reports of food poisoning across the country
keep the boxes, keep the receipts, especially if you believe cheerios or lucky charms may have made you ill in the past year. many of these reports date back to late 2021. the FDA investigation is ongoing, and they have not yet identified the cause of illness.
as a reminder, food poisoning is not one single thing. food poisoning does not mean tummy ache. food poisoning is thousands of different substances, toxins, undeclared ingredients, contaminants, viruses, bacteria, pesticides, fungi, carcinogens, mutagens, and more that can make people severely ill, permanently disabled, or dead.
despite thousands of reports of illness from cereal marketed towards CHILDREN, no recall has been issued yet.

The team found that a section of the brain just behind the forehead lighted up with a low hum of electrical activity when the study participants were feeling chronic pain. But when participants touched a hot probe, another region of the brain was active, indicating that fleeting pain from an injury operates differently from chronic pain.
“Chronic pain is actually its own separate disease that is not simply an extension of pain in general,” said study author Dr. Prasad Shirvalkar, a pain physician and neurologist at University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
The study is a step toward an objective, universal measure of pain in a patient, Shirvalkar said, to augment the current method available to doctors: asking patients to rank their discomfort on a scale.
I love all things frog, mushroom, rainbow high… I have Ehlers danlos syndrome and use both a rollator and a cane. Enby that is bad at making friends but likes to have them. I adore many cartoons but haven’t seen even more.
